Vila Foz Hotel & Spa has just achieved the Biosphere Sustainability Certification, a recognition of our commitment to adopting practices that promote sustainable tourism, where environmental, economic and socio-cultural balance prevails.
This is the first certification that follows the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The Biosphere methodology and management system was recognized in 2021 as the best sustainability certification tool in the world, representing a path of continuous improvement towards "Horizon 2030".
Among the various sustainable actions implemented by Vila Foz Hotel & Spa, measures such as the use of solar panels for heating water, motion sensors and timers for efficient lighting in public areas, use of natural gas, use of recyclable materials, stand out. reduction of plastic and encouragement of sustainable mobility, with charging points for electric vehicles, as well as provision of bicycles.
Since its opening in 2019, Vila Foz Hotel & SPA has implemented sustainable practices, not only in terms of mobility and efficiency in the management of natural resources, but also through responsible consumption and production, both in the hotel and in the two restaurants . Within this framework, we adopted a policy of responsible purchasing of local products with designation of origin, thus promoting the local economy and reducing the carbon footprint associated with the transport of goods and merchandise.
Biosphere Certification, created by the Responsible Tourism Institute (RTI), is based on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, as well as UNESCO and World Tourism Organization criteria, and is aligned with the Paris Agreement on climate change . Vila Foz Hotel & Spa is proud to be part of this global community that cares about the present and future of the planet.
